Great position in the quieter more up market residential area. Hotel is steeped in history from the 1940's onwards and the walls in the bar and restaurant bear testament to this with hundreds of photos. Quality furnishings in the public areas and lounges on the ground floor. Reception staff were very helpful and clued up.

Beautiful room, wonderful staff, very accommodating. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed here several times with no regrets. Reminiscent of the grand hotels of Europe, it is due for the $50 million makeover, however, once done, rooms would have to be $500/night. Walking distance, if you're not physically impaired, to all the gold coast, Michigan Avenue and its overpriced specialty stores, and old town for theaters and restaurants.
