This is probably one of the best-- if not the best-- hotel I've ever stayed at. It's not super swanky, but the service was absolutely exceptional. I chose this hotel because it was the cheapest hotel that was the closest to the center of Chicago. Because the rates were so much cheaper at the Carlton Inn than at other hotels.

Had I judged a motel by its appearance rather than by the reviews I saw on Trip Advisor, I would have driven right on past it. Not that it's bad, just that its appearance is that of hundreds of other, older motels. Passing it would have been a huge mistake.

The service immediately from the check-in was excellent. Anything we asked about the local area or the Inn were answered. If we ever return to that area of Chicago or need to pass through, we would stay there again. The room was cleaned very well and there was plenty of space.
